Martin Odegaard salary: How much does Arsenal star earn per week and annually in Premier League?

Everything you need to know about Martin Odegaard's salary at Arsenal

Norwegian star Martin Odegaard joined Arsenal permanently in 2021 after a short loan spell from Real Madrid. Following an underwhelming stint with the Spanish giants, Odegaard rediscovered his form playing for the Premier League side.

The Norwegian quickly became a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s system, gradually establishing himself as one of the team’s best players.

In recognition of his consistent performances and leadership qualities, Odegaard was eventually handed the captain's armband by the Arsenal management.

The midfielder signed a five-year contract extension with the club in 2023, keeping him at the Emirates until the end of the 2027-28 season.

Unsurprisingly, Odegaard is also one of the top earners in the Arsenal squad, drawing a substantial income for his role at the club.

So, exactly how much does he earn?

Jasprit Bumrah returns to lead India for T20Is in Ireland

Prasidh Krishna, Jitesh Sharma and Rinku Singh were also picked

ESPNcricinfo staff31-Jul-20231:20

What could Samson’s selection for the T20Is in Ireland mean?

A fully-fit Jasprit Bumrah is finally back in the India squad – as captain as well – for the T20Is in Ireland in August. In another boost to India’s fast-bowling stocks, Prasidh Krishna was also picked in the squad for the three games in Dublin.Bumrah hasn’t played any cricket since the T20I series at home against Australia last September. He has been at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for the past two months where he has slowly increased his bowling workloads after undergoing surgery in New Zealand for a back injury. He had a few practice games and the NCA staff, led by VVS Laxman, is believed to be satisfied with Bumrah’s progress.ESPNcricinfo has learned there were deliberations over whether Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was named captain for the 2023 Asian Games, should lead in Ireland as well to reduce Bumrah’s workload, but it’s understood the fast bowler was keen to lead. Bumrah had previously captained India in the Birmingham Test against England last year.ESPNcricinfo LtdPrasidh, meanwhile, is returning after extensive rehabilitation for a lumbar stress fracture that had kept him out of all cricket since the tour of Zimbabwe in August 2022. He didn’t undergo surgery initially and had been working towards a full recovery prior to the Ranji Trophy, but was advised surgery in December after another assessment. At the time of his injury, Prasidh was emerging as an effective bowler in the middle overs in ODIs with his height, pace and hard lengths. Last week, the BCCI had said that Bumrah and Prasidh were “bowling with full intensity in the nets.”Related

Gaikwad to lead second-string India side in Asian Games

Many of the players picked for the T20 cricket competition in the Asian Games were also selected to tour Ireland. The ODI regulars were rested to prepare for the Asia Cup starting on August 30 in Sri Lanka, just a week after the final Ireland T20I on August 23. The team management is considering a conditioning camp in Bengaluru prior to their departure to Sri Lanka.Apart from Gaikwad, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube were also picked on the back of impressive IPL seasons. Gaikwad was Chennai Super Kings’ second highest run-getter with 590 runs in 16 innings at a strike rate of 147.50 in a victorious season. In all, seven members of India’s Caribbean-bound T20I squad, including seamers Mukesh Kumar and Arshdeep Singh, feature in the side for the Ireland tour. Ravi Bishnoi, Shahbaz Ahmed and Washington Sundar are among the spin-bowling options for India.

Bavuma 'wasn't in the loop' about de Kock's ODI retirement

“With Quinny, at times, you can expect anything,” Bavuma says of of his opening partner

Firdose Moonda06-Sep-2023

Temba Bavuma on Quinton de Kock: “He has chosen his route, he is going to go the T20 route”•Associated Press

South Africa’s ODI captain Temba Bavuma was not aware of his opening partner Quinton de Kock’s decision to retire from the format until the official announcement was made at the unveiling of the World Cup squad on Tuesday. De Kock will step away from the 50-over cricket after this year’s World Cup, but remains available for T20Is, albeit not for every international series.”I wasn’t in the loop, as per his thinking or decision. With Quinny, at times, you can expect anything,” Bavuma said, ahead of South Africa’s first ODI against Australia in Bloemfontein. “It doesn’t change how we see the guy. It’s always been a pleasure playing with Quinton from our Under-15 days at school. He is an incredible player, talented; too much talent. He will be a big loss to South Africa at least in the ODI stuff.”Bauvma and de Kock’s playing days date back to their time as schoolboys in Johannesburg and at the Lions franchise. De Kock made international debuts in all three formats before Bavuma, and also captained South Africa before Bavuma, who has long sought de Kock’s counsel on-field. “He is one of the guys I lean on from a tactical point of view. Not having him within the space is going to be a bit of a challenge but it’s something we will have to overcome,” Bavuma said.Related

CSA in talks with de Kock over BBL-India series clash

De Kock’s retirement from ODIs comes as he has been in relatively lean form in the format – with only 133 runs in five matches this year – but at his best in the team environment, according to Bavuma. “This year is the freest I have ever seen him be in and around the team. He has been a lot more bubblier, always cracking jokes and starting banter within the guys,” Bavuma said, hinting that attitude may come from knowing that he won’t be playing for much longer. “I guess, maybe he made the decision a long time ago and it was about finding the right time to let everyone know. He has chosen his route, he is going to go the T20 route – the format he has succeeded quite well in. All we can do is wish him the best.”De Kock already plays in the IPL, SA20 and MLC and has recently signed with Melbourne Renegades for the upcoming BBL, where he is available for eight games between December 10 and January 5. That means he will miss South Africa’s series against India – their only scheduled matches in the format before next year’s T20 World Cup, for which de Kock is available for selection. In previous administrations, it would have been obligatory for de Kock to play in the India series to be in contention for the World Cup. But, on Tuesday, South Africa’s coach Rob Walter explained that CSA would have to be content with allowing players to get game time in overseas leagues or face the reality that “players will leave the international game and follow the leagues,” which points to a major change in policy. Bavuma spoke about it as a positive move, which demonstrates CSA’s response to changing times.”It’s become very dynamic and it’s important for international teams to adapt through that ever-changing landscape and try and find ways to stay ahead of that trend,” he said. “Credit to CSA and the South African Cricketers’ Association – they have taken note of that. There have been discussions around how we can position ourselves a lot better in terms of contracting players, making sure we still have access to our best players but also not compromising on players’ financial earning ability outside our own shores. That’s the way cricket is going. Gone are the days when we were inflexible and fighting against that change.”Whether that means more players will follow de Kock’s footsteps remains to be seen, but the landscape is likely to continue shifting as the bilateral calendar shrinks, something Australia’s captain Mitchell Marsh also recognised. “The landscape of cricket is changing and there are a lot of T20 formats,” he said, but unlike de Kock, he does not foresee a future for himself in leagues alone. “I can only speak for me. Playing for my country has been an unbelievable joy and has given me great pride so I will focus on that for as long as I possibly can. There’s no doubt players will have tough decisions to make over the years. But I think international cricket is still the pinnacle.”For many, this 50-over World Cup could represent the end of an era of sorts as international game learns to live alongside league cricket, and for Bavuma, it’s an ideal opportunity for South Africa to send one of their international stars, who is embracing T20 life, off with a bang. “With everything Quinny has achieved as a player – and the same could be said of a lot of guys within the group of a certain age – we would like to do something that hasn’t been done and that’s to win the World Cup. There’s no better way for him to walk away from South African cricket having done that.”South Africa pick four quicks plus MaharajOn a surface that has been described as flat, South Africa have opted for just one specialist spinner in Keshav Maharaj, and four quicks, which will likely mirror their World Cup combination. Reeza Hendricks remains on the bench, as back up.South Africa XI for 1st ODI vs Australia: 1 Temba Bavuma (capt), 2 Quinton de Kock (wk), 3 Rassie van der Dussen, 4 Aiden Markram, 5 Heinrich Klaasen, 6 David Miller, 7 Marco Jansen, 8 Gerald Coetzee, 9 Keshav Maharaj, 10 Lungi Ngidi, 11 Kagiso Rabada

Who could replace Richarlison at Spurs? 10 striker options for Postecoglou

Tottenham Hotspur and Daniel Levy have splashed the cash on a number of attacking players in recent years after losing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich.

The likes of Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson joined in big-money deals from Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest respectively, but before the duo moved to north London, Richarlison was a marquee signing from Everton.

Costing in the region of £60m, big things were expected from the Brazilian, but it hasn’t worked out for Richarlison at Tottenham. The attacker, who has been used through the middle and on either wing during his time at Spurs, has also suffered various injury problems and is on the treatment table again as the run-in begins.

5 players Tottenham Hotspur should sign this summer

Spurs are having a campaign to forget, but how could they correct things before next season?

Feb 7, 2025

Richarlison did hit double figures for goals in the Premier League last season, but he failed to hit these heights in his other two campaigns for Spurs and was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia last year and a return to the Toffees in 2025.

And with Tottenham’s forwards drawing another blank in their 1-0 defeat to Chelsea in midweek, another striker will surely be on Levy’s wishlist in the summer.

Here, we’ve looked at a handful of centre-forwards Spurs could target to replace Richarlison.

1

Jonathan David

Lille

One centre-forward set to be a man in demand this summer is Jonathan David, who is on course to become a free agent at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The Lille star has scored more than 100 goals for his current employers, taking his overall career tally to over 170 goals. He’s been linked with a move to Tottenham in recent times. The Canada international appears to be keen on a move to Barcelona, though, so Spurs may find it difficult to persuade David to move to north London.

12 players who could become free agents in summer 2025

These players are entering the final months of their contracts, meaning they could be on the move very soon…

By

2

Liam Delap

Ipswich Town

Liam Delap has been a shining light in a struggling Ipswich Town side this season and looks set to be on the move even if the Tractor Boys avoid relegation from the Premier League.

The former Man City youngster is into double figures for top-flight goals this season and starred at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a 2-1 win for Ipswich in November, grabbing a goal and an assist.

Spurs have since been linked with a move for Delap, who could prove to be a long-term upgrade on Richarlison.

3

Ademola Lookman

Atalanta

Atalanta's Davide Zappacosta celebrates scoring their fifth goal with AdemolaLookman

Ademola Lookman appears to be at the peak of his powers and has starred in Italy for Atalanta in recent years, including scoring a hat-trick in the 2024 Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen.

The Nigeria international came through the ranks at Charlton Athletic, but struggled to make a telling impact at Everton and RB Leipzig, as well as during loan spells at Fulham and Leicester City.

However, with Atalanta, Lookman has impressed in a new central role as a second striker or as a centre-forward, finding the net regularly in Serie A and the Champions League.

He’s been linked with a Premier League return, and perhaps Spurs should be in the race if they want to replace Richarlison adequately.

4

Mateo Retegui

Atalanta

Atalanta's MateoReteguicelebrates with the match ball

Another attacking star playing for Atalanta is Mateo Retegui, who is the current top scorer in Serie A with 24 goals in 28 games at the time of writing.

The Italy international is averaging a goal every 79 minutes and one of the best goal conversion records in the league, resulting in rumours of a £50m move to Arsenal.

At 25 years of age, he could be an ideal replacement for Richarlison, though Spurs may need to act fast if they want his services.

5

Randal Kolo Muani

PSG & Juventus

Before signing Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich, Tottenham were heavily linked with a move to sign Randal Kolo Muani, only for the Frenchman to join Juventus on loan.

There is an option for Juventus to make their move for the forward permanent in the summer, but if they don’t and Spurs decide to send Tel back to Bayern with an upgrade on Richarlison on their shopping list, they could look at returning for Kolo Muani.

He scored five goals in his first three games as a Juventus player, showing his quality in front of goal – something Richarlison has struggled with during his time with Spurs.

6

Evann Guessand

Nice

Another forward who was recently on Tottenham’s radar was Evann Guessand of Nice, who, at 23 years of age, could be a smart signing in the long term in north London.

Like Richarlison, the Ivory Coast international has played across the front three and is having his best career to date in terms of both goals and assists. He appears to be a star in the making, so Spurs could be on to a winner with Guessand should they go back in for him this summer.

7

Serhou Guirassy

Borussia Dortmund

If experience is what Spurs feel they need in the final third, Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy could be the man to replace Richarlison.

The Guinea international was reportedly open to joining Spurs before his move to Dortmund in 2024 and has continued to score goals on a regular occurrence at the Signal Iduna Park.

Now in his late 20s, Guirassy has already scored more than 10 goals in the Bundesliga and 10 in the Champions League this season, so he could be an excellent addition at the right price.

8

Moise Kean

Fiorentina

Moise Kean in action for Fiorentina

One forward who already has Premier League experience is Moise Kean, albeit during a period in his career he’d probably want to forget.

While playing alongside Richarlison at Everton, Kean struggled at Goodison Park, but has since found form once again in Italy, firstly with Juventus and now with Fiorentina.

Still only 25 years of age, Kean has already enjoyed the best goalscoring campaign of his career in 2024/25, and he may feel he has unfinished business in the Premier League.

9

Brian Brobbey

Ajax

Spurs reportedly made a late enquiry for Ajax forward Brian Brobbey during the January transfer window, with some claiming he could be a dream addition for Dejan Kulusevski.

A powerful striker who has been dubbed as a future star by many, Brobbey now has more than 50 goals for Ajax in over 150 games, hitting double figures in the last two Eredivisie campaigns.

With Tottenham keen, he could be another to keep an eye on heading into the summer.

10

Lois Openda

RB Leipzig

RB Leipzig striker Lois Openda.

Lois Openda was mooted as an “interesting Richarlison replacement” in 2024, but as we know, a move never materialised.

Plying his trade for RB Leipzig, the Belgium international has continued to impress in the Bundesliga, reaching 21 goals and assists combined in 2024/25 heading into April.

Primarily an out-and-out centre-forward, Openda could form an eye-catching partnership with Solanke, with the former’s pace and the latter’s strength possibly causing havoc for defences.

Pundit Nevin has tipped Chelsea to make a move for Everton defender Branthwaite, comparing him to Stamford Bridge legend Terry. The Toffees centre-back has attracted a number of interested parties since breaking into the team, though the Merseyside club are said to have put an enormous price tag on his head to ward off potential suitors.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Chelsea are expected to invest heavily in their squad again this summer as Enzo Maresca looks to build on their finish of fourth in the Premier League alongside their triumph in the Conference League. They already have a number of centre-back options, including Levi Colwill, Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile, new signing Mamadou Sarr and the injured Wesley Fofana.

  • WHAT NEVIN SAID

Speaking to , who offer the latest jackpot slots, Nevin said: "I've said before that centre-backs don't come into their own until they turn 24, 25 or 26. Levi Colwill is 22 and has everything you want in a defender. Chelsea must stick with him in their current model.

"Someone like Marc Guehi is coming into his prime at 24. Would I like to see him partnered with Colwill? Oh yes, definitely. I would love to see that. I've been saying for quite a while that Dean Huijsen is one of the best defenders in the world and, if I were Chelsea, he would have been the one I would have gone for. I thought he could replace Virgil van Dijk at Liverpool, so I was surprised to see him end up at Real Madrid.

"The other defender Chelsea need to consider signing, and I don't want it to happen, is Jarrad Branthwaite. He's young, but acts way beyond his years, and is growing into something special. Out of all the current defenders out there at the moment, I think he's the closest there is to John Terry when it comes to leadership and his style of play. My Evertonian hat hopes it will not happen though."

Moreeng claims South Africa women's dressing room is not divided

Players had asked for a change when his contract was extended, but coach says they’ve talked it out

Hilton Moreeng has denied a rift in the South African women’s changeroom despite a group of players expressing their grievances with his continuing as the head coach.Moreeng, who is in his 11th year in the post and has had his contract extended until December 31, went as far as to describe the environment as “not unhealthy,” following a two-week camp where players were given the opportunity to air their views. He did not elaborate on what was discussed but indicated the squad is united on the eve of their departure to Pakistan for a six-match white-ball series starting September 1.Asked how he is going to manage players who have written to Cricket South Africa to express their desire for a change in coach, Moreeng batted away any suggestion of a schism. “There are challenges here and there and these internal things we discuss. The landscape has changed. The country has become professional but regarding the changeroom being divided, it’s not something that has happened,” he said. “We are building as a team. Whatever challenges we encounter, which are in every changeroom, is one of those you discuss as you go along. Extended conversations have happened. We had a camp. We could speak and find out what the actual challenges are. We also need to stay focused on the job at hand. It’s not an unhealthy situation. You need to have discussions.”Related

South Africa name Wolvaardt as women team's interim captain

Chief among those conversations is the one Moreeng had to have with Sune Luus, who opted to step down as South Africa captain earlier this week. The 27-year-old had served as a stand-in several times and had great success recently, taking them to the final of the T20 World Cup. At that tournament, she even opened up about making the team her own.CSA initially did not provide a reason for Luus resigning but later said she chose to “to focus on her cricket.” Moreeng echoed that line. “She decided to step down because she wants to contribute to the team and focus on her performances. In the beginning, it was tough but we had to accept that’s how the player feels. She feels she can contribute more (not as captain).”Laura Wolvaardt, who Moreeng praised for having a “very good cricket brain,” has taken over in interim capacity for the Pakistan and New Zealand series, which close out South Africa’s year. A decision on the permanent captain will be made towards the end of the year. That is also when a longer-term coaching appointment will be made with the board now accepting applications. Moreeng did not explicitly say if he will put his name in the hat again but confirmed that he still has ambitions for the national women’s team. “I have enjoyed working with the players from the first day. When we started as a team, it’s always been one of our visions to give ourselves a chance to win a World Cup and to have a professional league,” he said.Already one of those goals has been met. This week, CSA announced that the top-tier of women’s domestic cricket will be made professional and that each of the six teams competing can contract 11 players and a full-time backroom staff.Moreeng came close to achieving the second – winning a World Cup – when he oversaw South Africa’s run to the T20 World Cup final earlier this year. “As a country, we can say, we are closing the gap slowly,” he said. “When you look at the top three teams, we are closing the gap.” Given that he has also taken the team to the last two ODI World Cup semi-finals, he called it “frustrating,” to hear calls for his ouster but added “that is the country we live in.” It is ESPNcricinfo’s understanding that the players are not unhappy with Moreeng as a person, but are after a change of ideas.

Liverpool ramp up interest in Militao-esque "revelation" to replace Trent

Liverpool are now ramping up their interest in a defender who’s been likened to Eder Militao, with Trent Alexander-Arnold looking increasingly likely to move to Real Madrid this summer, according to a report.

Trent's time at Anfield coming to an end

With just a matter of months remaining on Alexander Arnold’s contract, the right-back looks set to leave at the end of the season, and Real Madrid is in his sights, as revealed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Conor Bradley is the obvious choice to replace Trent, with the Northern Irish youngster stepping in at right-back on a number of occasions this season, but there is a feeling the Reds could also look to bring in another option this summer.

Newcastle United’s Tino Livramento is one of the latest defenders to be linked with a surprise move to Anfield, while contact has also been made over a deal for Celta Vigo’s Oscar Mingueza, who has a release clause of just £17m.

According to a report from The Boot Room, another target has also now entered the frame, with Liverpool ramping up their interest in SC Freiburg’s Kiliann Sildillia, who is also on the radar of Premier League rivals Manchester City, Aston Villa and Brighton.

Sildillia is deemed likely to leave Freiburg this summer, amid interest from a number of England’s top clubs, having put in some top performances at right-back this season, although he is also able to slot in at centre-back when required.

The Reds have watched the defender on more than one occasion in recent weeks, such is their level of interest, with his contract set to expire in 2026, making this summer Freiburg’s last chance to cash-in.

"Revelation" Sildillia could be upgrade on Trent defensively

Liverpool would be hard-pressed to find any full-back capable of replacing Trent’s attacking numbers, but there are signs the Freiburg ace could be an upgrade from a defensive point of view.

The Frenchman has outperformed the Reds’ academy graduate on a number of key defensive metrics over the past year, ranking very highly, when compared to his positional peers in Europe’s ‘big five’ leagues.

Not only that, but the full-back, who has been a “revelation” in the Bundesliga, is capable of contributing going forward, ranking in the 97th percentile for non-penalty goals. The 22-year-old’s versatility could also be of use to Arne Slot, with scout/analyst Jacek Kulig likening him to Real Madrid’s Militao, who is able to play at both centre-back and right-back.

There is theoretically still time for a late U-turn from Trent, but with it looking ever more likely he will move to Madrid this summer, Sildillia has proven he could be a solid signing.
