Chelsea have submitted an enquiry regarding a summer deal to bring Real Madrid star Federico Valverde to the Premier League, according to reports.

Who is Federico Valverde?

Valverde is a central midfielder who first arrived at the Bernabeu Stadium from Madrid's B team back in 2018 following a move there from Penarol a year earlier. He’s since gone on to become a regular feature of the first-team, clocking up a total of 204 senior appearances to date.

The Uruguay international still has another four years remaining on his contract in La Liga, but with Carlo Ancelotti’s side having recently confirmed the big-money arrival of Jude Bellingham, admirers are keen to check in to see whether he could become available.

Spanish reports have claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is “obsessed” with the 24-year-old, and if the following update is to be believed, it sounds like the manager’s initial interest has now developed into gathering information on what it would take to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Are Chelsea signing Valverde?

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool have all "made enquiries" to Real Madrid and Valverde's personal representatives ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. The Blues are one of the clubs to have made "real attempts" to secure the midfielder's services, but the response was "clear" because he is "not looking to move", nor do his side want to sell.

Should Boehly still try a bid?

Real Madrid and indeed Valverde seem to be adamant that they don’t want to strike any kind of deal this summer. But money always talks in football, and considering the positive impact the midfielder “monster”, as dubbed by talent scout Jacek Kulig, could make, Todd Boehly should definitely see if they could be tempted to change their mind.

Los Blancos’ £134k-per-week talisman is stronger in the offensive aspect of his game having posted 11 goal contributions (seven goals and four assists) in 34 La Liga outings last season, with this form having seen him receive four man-of-the-match awards.

The Montevideo native is also a versatile operator having been deployed in eight various positions across the pitch since the start of his career, including in the defence and out wide on the wing alongside his natural role, which will be yet another attractive attribute to Pochettino.

Finally, Valverde shares the same agency, Wasserman, as Lewis Hall, so this existing connection that his representative has to the club could give them a small advantage should they try to get a deal over the line in the near future.

Chelsea are keen on a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic this summer as Mauricio Pochettino eyes a new striker addition, according to journalist Rudy Galetti.

What's the latest transfer news involving Dusan Vlahovic?

According to ESPN, Chelsea are said to have made Vlahovic their number one target this summer and have submitted an offer worth €80 million (£68.7 million) to try and land the Serbia international.

The report states that the £214k-a-week ace is unhappy at Juventus and may seek a new challenge in the off-season and Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid are also keen on the 23-year-old.

Corriere dello Sport via Man Utd News claim that Juventus could cash in on Vlahovic in the window and there are four clubs involved in the chase for his signature; Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

Gazzetta dello Sport via 90min cite that a player-plus-cash deal could also be in the offing for Vlahovic, with Romelu Lukaku going in the opposite direction as part of any potential transfer.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Galetti has detailed that Chelsea wouldn't have a problem in being able to meet demands regarding personal terms to secure the signing of Vlahovic.

Galetti said: "I was told a week ago Pochettino wants him, considering him the ideal striker for his tactical idea, however, the Blues have to pay attention to the competition.

"Bayern Munich in fact are increasing the pressure on Dusan, targeted as their priority to strengthen the attack. Anyway, in general, Dusan would like to leave Juventus after this last difficult season, and that's why an original agreement on personal terms we deem shouldn't be so difficult."

Would Dusan Vlahovic be a good fit for Chelsea?

Vlahovic, who was signed for £66 million, is a talented forward who could fully fulfil his potential by moving to the Premier League to spearhead the Blues' attack heading into next term.

The Serbia international enjoyed a decent, if not spectacular, return in front of goal in 2022/23, notching 14 strikes and four assists in 42 appearances across all competitions, as per Transfermarkt.

WhoScored show that Vlahovic was a constant menace to opposition backlines during this term, registering an average of 2.5 shots on goal per match in Serie A.

As per FBRef, Vlahovic also led the line efficiently for Juventus and linked play well, managing to carry out 63 shot-creating actions in total.

Chelsea aren't the only club interested in making Vlahovic a marquee signing this summer and they would need to sell a project that is too good to turn down to ensure the 23-year-old pitches up at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal are believed to have made the most headway in the race to potentially sign West Ham United's Declan Rice ahead of the summer window.

How much will Declan Rice cost?

The Gunners may not have been able to get their hands on the Premier League's top prize this season but they will go into the new campaign with Champions League football on the menu.

And ahead of the summer transfer window, they are clearly looking to get off to a flying start as they monitor the situation of West Ham's Rice.

Indeed, it is believed the north London side have been eyeing a move for the 24-year-old for a while now but were waiting until the conclusion of the Hammers' European campaign.

Now the Irons have got their hands on the Europa Conference League trophy, it is reported the Gunners will look to lodge their first bid for the midfielder.

Arsenal are not the only club who are interested in potentially making a move for Rice this summer with Bayern Munich also believed to be keen on the Englishman.

What is clear, though, is that any side who are looking to secure his services this summer will have to part with a significant amount of money for the £100m-rated star.

Will Arsenal sign Declan Rice?

Burnley face a battle to land Georges Mikautadze this summer, with a report from Footmercato stating that AC Milan are also ready to launch a bid for his services.

Who are Burnley signing this summer?

The Clarets have had a superb Championship campaign under boss Vincent Kompany, with the former Man City man taking the side to the top of the second-tier table in his first season. They stormed their way to glory, too – racking up 101 points and losing only three times.

Now, with the club gearing up for life back in the Premier League, their manager will be on the hunt for players that can help keep this upward trajectory going. The side won't want to be dumped straight back down a division and will therefore need to invest wisely to ensure their stay in the top flight is not a short one.

One of the names that has already emerged as a potential target for Burnley now is Georges Mikautadze. According to Footmercato, the Clarets have been "won over" by the player's performances this season but they could now face a struggle to sign the Metz ace.

That's because the same report adds that AC Milan are now also in the race to land the 14-cap Georgia man and could offer €10m (£8.7m) in order to secure his signature.

Who is Georges Mikautadze?

The striker currently plays for FC Metz in France and has had a sensational season with the club, bagging himself 23 goals in 33 league starts for the side, including a current run of nine goals in eight games. In addition, he managed a further eight assists, which led to a per-90 goal contribution rate of 0.96. It's a large part of the reason why the French outfit are currently sat third in Ligue 2.

He's also been gathering plenty of admirers along the way, with football talent scout Jacek Kulig calling him "The Georgian Killer." That's because of his goal rate for the side, and considering his age – he is just 22 years old – it makes his record even more impressive.

It's not the first time he has hit double-digit goal figures, either, having managed 19 when he was in his teens in Belgium. It means that this campaign is not a one-off for the striker – and if he does join Burnley and repeat the feat, it could go a long way towards keeping them in the Premier League next season.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in making a high-profile swoop for West Ham United star, Declan Rice, with the England international seemingly edging toward a summer exit from the London Stadium.

What's the latest on Rice to Man United?

That's according to journalist Jacob Steinberg, who revealed on Twitter that the Red Devils are ready to battle it out with rivals Arsenal for the 24-year-old's signature: "Manchester United planning move for Declan Rice this summer. Arsenal have put in a lot of groundwork but they now face competition from United for the West Ham midfielder."

In his attached piece for The Guardian, the transfer insider revealed that while United's focus appears to be on landing a new striker this summer, there is 'growing' interest in the Hammers ace.

While it is said that there is 'no guarantee' that Erik ten Hag's side will lodge a bid for the one-time Chelsea youth product – who could command a fee of around £100m – Rice does appear to be a potential target for the Old Trafford outfit, with the midfielder in line for an exit from his current side with just a year left on his existing deal.

How would Rice fit in at Man United?

It is perhaps easy to see why Ten Hag is keeping tabs on the 6 foot 1 maestro, with Manchester Evening News having previously reported that the Dutchman is keen to acquire a 'younger midfielder' ahead of next season, after bringing in the experienced duo of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen last summer.

The addition of Rice could well prove bad news for the latter man, in particular, with it unlikely to be Casemiro – who has been hailed as the "cement" in the side by his manager – who is ousted from his starting berth next season, having cost the club a rather hefty £70m back in August.

In the case of Eriksen – who arrived on a free transfer at the start of last summer – the Danish playmaker has made an impressive impact at the Theatre of Dreams this season with two goals and nine assists in all competitions, although at 31, it remains to be seen if he can be a long-term solution in the centre of the park.

For all the former Tottenham Hotspur man's creative benefits – showcased by the fact that he ranks in the top 1% among his European peers for assists – he seemingly does not possess the ball-winning brilliance nor the mobility of the aforementioned Rice.

That is shown by the fact that the West Ham machine ranks in the top 3% for interceptions and the top 14% for progressive carries as a marker of his ability to both win back the ball but also drive forward from deep, while Eriksen, by contrast, ranks in just the bottom 10% and the top 37% for those same two metrics respectively.

It was also Rice – who has been hailed as a "Rolls Royce" by pundit Danny Murphy – who came out on top when the two sides met in the capital last weekend, with 90min's Toby Cudworth writing that the 41-cap ace was 'absolutely sensational', while Eriksen, by contrast, was 'overwhelmed' in the second half – according to GOAL's Richard Martin.

That stellar showing from the Englishman will likely have piqued the interest of Ten Hag and co even further, with it set to be no surprise if the £60k-per-week ace is lining up alongside Casemiro next term in a red jersey.

Everton are going to find it "very difficult" to keep hold of midfielder Amadou Onana this summer, according to an update from journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Is Onana having a good season?

The 21-year-old made the move to Goodison Park last summer, arriving in a big-money move from Lille and being seen as an exciting signing. Amid the Blues' struggles in the Premier League this season, he has arguably been one of the bright sparks, providing a mixture of quality and tenacity in the middle of the park, scoring and assisting once apiece in the league along the way.

With Everton threatened by relegation to the Championship, it seems highly unlikely that Onana would stay at Goodison Park beyond the summer if that happens, and he may even look for a new challenge regardless of their position in the football ladder. His current Blues deal expires in the summer of 2027, which would at least mean that the Merseysiders could earn good money for his signature.

Will Onana leave Everton this summer?

Speaking to Caught Offside [via Goodison News], Romano admitted that Everton will do well to keep Onana at the club by the time the summer transfer window ends:

"Everton are going to find it very difficult to keep hold of Amadou Onana this summer."

In truth, it would be impossible to begrudge Onana a move away from Everton this summer should the unthinkable happen and the Blues go down to the Championship, having only survived by the skin of their teeth last time around.

The hope is that they retain their Premier League status and Sean Dyche talks the Belgian into staying put, though, promising him that he can be a key man in both the present and the future. The £38,000-a-week midfielder has been hailed as "outstanding" by journalist Connor O'Neill earlier this year and is a player with so much potential.

At 21, he has already won six caps for a star-studded Belgium side featuring the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku, and he should only grow into a more dominant figure for club and country as the years pass and he matures as a player.

The brutal truth is that Everton will do very well to keep Onana, however, especially if a club who are playing European football come in for him and offer him a route out of Goodison in the summer.

West Ham United have been handed a boost ahead of the Premier League's resumption next weekend, as Vladimir Coufal is now expected to be fit for the visit of relegation rivals Southampton.

Has Vladimir Coufal recovered from his injury?

The right-back has been out of action since picking up a heel injury in the 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest last month, missing each of the Hammers' last five fixtures.

It has been a big loss for Moyes as he has been forced to utilise either Ben Johnson or Thilo Kehrer in that position, and neither have impressed with their performances this season, ranking as the 12th and 16th-best performers in David Moyes' squad according to WhoScored.

Hammers fans will have been hoping that the former Slavia Prague man would use the international break to get back to full fitness, but he was a surprise inclusion in the Czech Republic squad and could feature in their upcoming games against Poland and Moldova.

Czech boss Jaroslav Silhavy has provided an update on the 30-year-old's situation, which will perhaps put upset West Ham fans at ease.

He told iDNES.cz: “Vlaďs had health problems with his heel, but at the moment he is doing everything to be ready for Friday.

“Our side is in daily contact with West Ham, we exchange information and we believe that Vlad will be ready for the match against Poland on Friday.”

Should Coufal come out unscathed, then there is no reason now why he won't be able to feature against Southampton in the six-pointer at the London Stadium next weekend.

Considering Moyes' side failed to win any of their domestic fixtures without Coufal in the side, losing to Brighton and Manchester United and drawing with Aston Villa, the £35k-per-week defender's return could prove vital for the must-win game against Southampton this weekend.

Manchester United are reportedly among a handful of Premier League clubs who are interested in signing Fulham midfielder, Joao Palhinha, according to reports.

What’s the latest on Palhinha to Man United?

As per The Sun, the Red Devils – as well as the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur – are said to be eyeing a move for the Portugal international this summer, with the 27-year-old having impressed since arriving in England last year.

The report suggests that the former Sporting CP man – who was signed by the Cottagers on a £17m deal in July – could command a fee of more than £40m, with Marco Silva and co unsurprisingly reluctant to sanction a sale.

The towering brute was reportedly a target for the Old Trafford outfit prior to eventually making the move to west London, with it looking as if the club could revive that interest ahead of next season.

How is Palhinha performing at Fulham?

United boss Erik ten Hag will no doubt be fully aware of the impact that Palhinha is making a Craven Cottage at present, with the highly-coveted “warrior” – as described by journalist Hunter Godson – having produced a truly dominant display when the two sides met earlier this season.

Despite ending up on the losing side, the 6 foot 3 titan notably won 12 of his 15 total duels – including making nine tackles – having illustrated just why he has been “one of the signings of the season”, according to Sky Sports reporter Jamie Weir.

That standout showing has seemingly been the norm for the 18-cap powerhouse so far this term, as he currently ranks top of the division for tackles made (101), with that tally far superior to that of current United man, Casemiro (58).

That is indicated by the fact that the Fulham star has averaged a mammoth tally of 4.2 tackles and 1.4 interceptions per 90 from his 24 league appearances this season, while Casemiro averages slightly lower at 3.1 and 1.3 for the same two metrics, respectively, from his 19 outings.

Equally, Palhinha also comes out on top with regard to total duels won (63% to 57%), while his potentially superior quality on the ball has been showcased by the fact that he has lost possession just 8.5 times per game and has a pass accuracy rate of 81%, while Casemiro has lost possession 12.6 times per game and has a pass accuracy rate of just 75%.

Not that such a comparison is a criticism of the Brazilian’s performances under Ten Hag this season, it is merely a marker of just how impressive Palhinha has been for the Cottagers thus far, hence why the Premier League’s big boys have well and truly taken notice.

As such, whether the signing of the Lisbon-born machine is to rival Casemiro in the side or to play alongside him, it would surely represent an astute move for United.
