Manchester United take on Manchester City this weekend in a game which looks make-or-break for any potential title challenge.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has plenty of selection dilemmas to make ahead of the trip to the Etihad Stadium, but one man who should be included in the starting line-up is winter arrival Amad Diallo.

Signed from Atalanta, the 18-year-old has made just two substitute appearances for the Red Devils thus far this season, both in the Europa League.

However, he had an instant impact for the club’s under-23 setup, notching three goals and three assists in just two showings.

It is that form which should see him start ahead of fellow United youngster Mason Greenwood, who has netted just one goal in the Premier League this season from 21 appearances, that solitary strike coming back at the start of December.

Diallo’s statistics in his albeit limited senior appearances also paint a damning picture for Greenwood’s place in the side.

Across just 73 minutes in all competitions for both his former club and his new employers, the young Ivorian has averaged one shot, 0.5 key passes and one dribble per game, as well as being fouled on average 1.3 times per appearance, according to WhoScored.

These numbers are not too dissimilar to Greenwood’s 1.7 shots, 0.3 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per game. However, he has only been fouled 0.6 times per appearance.

The greater attention and cynical play on Diallo from opposition, whilst not enhancing his own performance or goalscoring prospects, give opportunities to the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford to set their sights from free-kicks.

Those numbers could imply that the £13.5m-rated winger should certainly be in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s thoughts.

It is clear that former Red Devils man Paul Scholes is a fan of the young winger, too, labelling him a “real talent”.

Whilst United boss Solskjaer could decide it might be too early to blood Diallo in the melting pot of a Manchester derby, the youngster is certainly pushing for inclusion and should definitely be considered ahead of the woefully out-of-form Greenwood.

ذكرت تقارير صحفية فرنسية أن نادي موناكو قد قرر إقالة مدربه الكرواتي نيكو كوفاتش من تدريب الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي الإمارة.

ويتولى كوفاتش تدريب موناكو منذ يوليو من العام الماضي، حيث تولى تدريب الفريق في 19 يوليو 2020، بعد أن تمت إقالته من بايرن ميونخ.

وقالت صحيفة “ليكيب” الفرنسية، في تقرير لها، إن النادي قرر الانفصال عن كوفاتش، حيث اتخذت الإدارة قرارًا نهائيًا بذلك.

وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أن النادي يدرس بعض الأمور القانونية من أجل إبعاد كوفاتش عن تدريب الفريق الأول.

وفي نفس السياق ذكرت إذاعة “مونت كارلو الدولية” أن إدارة موناكو قد أبلغت كوفاتش بقرار إقالته بالفعل.

وأوضحت الإذاعة أن نظرًا لأن النادي يحتل حاليًا المركز السادس في الدوري، اتخذت الإدارة قرار الإقالة بشكل نهائي، بعد التفكير فيها خلال الأسابيع القليلة الماضية.

واختتمت الإذاعة تقرير موضحة أن أسباب قرار الإدارة بالإطاحة بالمدرب صاحب الـ50 عامًا، تأتي في ظل الخلافات بينه وبين بعض اللاعبين في الفريق، مثل قائد الفريق وسام بن يدر.

يُذكر أن موناكو قد انتصر في آخر مبارياته تحت قيادة كوفاتش والتي أقيمت يوم الأربعاء الماضي، حيث فاز الفريق بهدفين مقابل هدف، ليُصبح رصيده 29 نقطة في المرتبة السادسة في سلم ترتيب الدوري الفرنسي.

Após o fim da atividade no campo, os atletas relacionados para o confronto desta quarta-feira seguiram para a concentração no hotel do clube, onde os jogadores permanecerão até instantes antes do jogo decisivo.

O Vitória da Conquista treinou na tarde de hoje no C.T do Floresta Esporte Clube, equipe da segunda divisão cearense. O treinamento serviu para o treinador Sérgio Araújo fazer os últimos ajustes para o jogo decisivo de amanhã contra o Ceará pela Copa do Nordeste. Uma das novidades na equipe visitante, foi a presença de Zé Paulo, atacante recém contratado. O jogador já está regularizado e poderá entrar em campo na quarta.

O motivo para a criação desta multa foi o jogo contra a Ferroviária, no Paulista, no Allianz Parque. Na camisa daquela partida, foi usada a hashtag #SejaSócioAvanti. A patrocinadora paga R$ 66 milhões para ser a única a estampar suas marcas (Crefisa e FAM) em todo o uniforme e considerou que a propaganda do programa de sócio-torcedor burlava este acordo. Depois do problema, o clube passou a apresentar antes as roupas de jogo aos patrocinadores.

Em resposta, o clube não recebeu no começo de março os R$ 6,5 milhões, valor que a parceira deposita mensalmente pelo patrocínio e pelos gastos com Lucas Barrios. Até o momento, a quantia não foi paga – o pagamento só deve ser feito após a definição do aditivo.

Leeds have been handed a major blow before their Premier League clash against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon, with the news that Pascal Struijk will not be available for Marcelo Bielsa.

Ahead of the game against the Blues today, The Athletic’s Phil Hay confirmed that the midfielder will once again be missing from first team action after his absence against West Ham last time out.

While Struijk has faced some criticism from certain sections of the Leeds support this season, he still offers some strong defensive qualities which would have been perfect for a game against an in-form side like Chelsea.

As per Whoscored, he averages an impressive two tackles and two interceptions per game in the Premier League this season, ranking him sixth and second respectively among his Leeds teammates.

The 21-year-old is also one of the rare Leeds players who’s dominant in the air, winning 1.8 aerial duels per match, and scoring a thumping header from a corner against Arsenal earlier this year – no surpise given he stands at 6 foot 3.

Former Leeds man Dominic Matteo is seemingly a big fan of him, saying: “He reads the game a lot better than he’s credited for. He’ll get even better too. Struijk is one to look out for.

“There’s plenty of work to be done but, with the size of him, his physicality, his passing, he’s got it all and can step into midfield. He looks very calm on the ball, players who are a bit erratic are not for me but he looks comfortable in possession.”

While Leeds have been boosted by the recent return to fitness of the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Rodrigo, having Struijk out against Chelsea – who are unbeaten in their 11 games under new manager Thomas Tuchel – will surely have Bielsa concerned and worried.

النادي الإنجليزي أعلن تعاقده مع اللاعب البرازيلي حتى نهاية الموسم ولمدة 6 أشهر معارًا من برشلونة، قبل أن يكشف لاحقًأ عن وجود خيار شراء في عقد كوتينيو.

فابريزيو رومانو الصحفي الإيطالي الموثوق بسوق الانتقالات في شبكة “سكاي”، أكد أن أستون فيلا سيدفع حوالي 65% شاملة الضرائب من راتب فيليب كوتينيو.

كوتينيو من أكثر اللاعبين دخلًا في برشلونة، حيث يحصل البرازيلي على 16 مليون يورو، بعدما انضم إلى البلوجرانا في يناير 2018 مقابل 150 مليون يورو، كأغلى صفقة في تاريخ النادي الكتالوني.

ووافق برشلونة على الإعارة مع خيار الشراء، لكنه غير إلزامي، وذلك بعد أن أراد النادي الكتالوني إعارة اللاعب لموسم ونصف، لكن الفيلانز قرروا ضمه لمدة 6 أشهر.

Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, former Southampton striker Kevin Phillips has described Danny Ings’ recent injury as a “huge blow” for the Saints.

Despite an injury-hit campaign, Ings is Southampton’s top goalscorer this campaign, but suffered another major setback at Sheffield United last weekend.

Just 13 minutes into Saints’ win at Bramall Lane, the England frontman sustained a muscle problem and is now facing around four weeks on the sidelines.

Ings missed almost the whole of November following a knee injury and also spent the best-part of January out injured.

It means that the former Liverpool striker won’t be available for Southampton’s crucial Premier League meeting with Brighton on Sunday and is expected to miss their FA Cup quarter-final with Bournemouth the following week and home game with Burnley at the beginning of April.

Since Ings’ injury, Che Adams has stepped up to the plate by scoring Saints’ second against the Blades before netting a consolation in their defeat at Man City.

But despite Adams’ impressive form, Phillips was in no mood to underplay the loss of Ings. He told Football FanCast:

“Losing Danny Ings for a few weeks is a huge blow for Southampton”.

Whilst it’s obviously a considerable blow for Southampton, beating Sheffield United was a massive result for them, especially following Fulham’s surprise victory at Anfield later in the day.

Saints head into the weekend just seven points above the relegation-zone, but with Fulham hosting Manchester City, beating Brighton on Sunday will surely but secure Southampton’s Premier League status.

A diretoria deveria ter chamado a Polícia Militar, mas preferiu “permitir” – lógico, se omitindo naquele momento – que os jogadores ficassem frente a frente com estes “torcedores”, soltando na parte da tarde apenas uma nota oficial repudiando o episódio. Manchester United bolstered their hopes of finishing in the Premier League top four by squeezing past West Ham 1-0 on Sunday evening.

It was a tight victory for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men as they overcame a fellow UEFA Champions League challenger, courtesy of Craig Dawson’s own goal. The Hammers defender was somewhat unfortunate in the way that Scott McTominay’s header deflected off of him and into the back of the net but the Red Devils would not have minded at all in what form the goal came.

It was the aforementioned McTominay who was key for the Red Devils in claiming victory, playing a crucial role in the goal, as well as the remainder of the game.

The Scottish midfielder is currently in the midst of his best scoring season having scored seven goals in all competitions, and whilst the winner will not be awarded to him, his intervention made it.

McTominay continued to display that hunger to get forward throughout the rest of the clash, having two shots, as well as providing a key pass, according to WhoScored. His passing statistics also remained eye-catching as he accumulated a highly impressive accuracy rate of 96.9%. No player on the park who started the game managed to complete a higher percentage of their attempted passes than the Scottish international, including the ever-inspirational Bruno Fernandes.

The 24-year-old wasn’t finished there though as he also played a pivotal role from a defensive standpoint, too.

Partnered alongside Fred, McTominay produced two tackles and a further four interceptions – no player on either side managing to pick off more opposition passes than the Red Devils’ midfielder.

The only slight blot on his copy book was a silly yellow card picked up for a pull-back on Michail Antonio, however, that should not take anything away from his performance at all in what could be a crucial victory for the Red Devils.
