Marcelo Bielsa has often been adamant that he likes to operate with a small squad, therefore it’s interesting to see that he has so many midfield and attacking options.

One man who can fill in as a midfielder or a striker is Tyler Roberts, and while the Welshman has played in each of United’s first three league games this term, his path at Leeds may soon look a little foggy.

Yes, Roberts has come off the bench in each of United’s first two games, while also getting a start against Sheffield United, but in a few weeks circumstances may change and his role may become a lot more limited.

Indeed, three-time Player of the Year Pablo Hernandez will eventually return from injury, Michael Cuisance looks set to arrive and Rodrigo has been tipped to improve as time goes on, so it seems Roberts may end up slowly but surely slipping down the hierarchy in both midfield and in attack.

As the weeks go by, Rodrigo will become fitter and more accustomed to Bielsa’s style, and as that happens, he’s likely to become first-choice in either a number 10 or a striker role, because you don’t spend a club-record fee on a Spain international to leave him rotting on the bench.

The same has to be said about the imminent £18m signing of Cuisance from Bayern Munich, he’s coming to Leeds for big money from the current European champions, and he surely isn’t arriving at Elland Road to sit behind a man who couldn’t even get regular starts in the Championship – Roberts began just 12 league games last term.

Fans had hoped that Roberts would emerge as a bona fide first-teamer, with some drooling over him after his impressive performance vs QPR last season, but competition for spots is a lot more competitive when your club can spend Premier League money, and as things stand his path towards becoming a starter at Leeds looks foggy as there is a plethora talent waiting to overtake him in the pecking order.

Roberts might need to have a conversation with the manager about his plans for him, because as things progress, there may be plenty for the 22-year-old to be concerned about.

In other news, one potential Leeds signing could be an immediate fan favourite.

Nascido na cidade de Concordia, Bou foi revelado pelo River Plate, que o emprestou para clubes como Olimpo e Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, ambos da Argentina, e LDU, de Quito, no Equador, até negociá-lo com o Racing. Em 2015, Bou jogou 53 jogos e marcou 27 gols.

Brazil made easy work of grabbing a win in their most recent World Cup qualifier, delivering a 5-0 thrashing to a helpless Bolivia.

Roberto Firmino was on song for his country, showcasing his clinical ability in front of goal that has perhaps been forgotten as of late. The Liverpool No.9 netted a brace, tallying his 13th senior goal in 44 appearances (via Transfermarkt). Jurgen Klopp will likely havebeen watchong along, stroking his chin and wondering whether he can see this type of dangerous goalscorer more often in the Premier League.

Firmino’s role at Liverpool

The Reds boast one of the most threatening attacking trios in the world right now, but at times, even they can look short ofthat extra bit of electricity in the final third. As previously highlighted by Football FanCast, the reigning league champions could benefit from a typical goal-poacher style player lurking up top.

Whilst Firmino’s work ethic is invaluable to the team, his goal return isn’t near the likes of Jamie Vardy and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The club have been without a constant target man playing at centre-forward arguably since Daniel Sturridge’s decline.

In fact, Firmino scored just nine goals for Liverpool in the league last season, which despite being a solid return, is way behind his competition. The Reds operate by relying mainly on Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to find the back of the net, which is a strategy that certainly worked last campaign. The duo scored a combined 37 goals and both finished ahead of Sergio Aguero and Marcus Rashford in the scoring charts (via Premier League).

However, Brazil’s tactics have shown that Firmino has a lot of talent in his locker that often isn’t being utilised at Liverpool. Changing up his role to mirror his position in the Brazil side could unleash a whole new attacking dynamic for the holding champions. The £64.8million-valued forward’s performance against Bolivia included a 100% conversion rate, 100% successful dribbles and one key pass (via Sofascore).

A goalscoring frontman has clearly been a priority on Liverpool’s transfer list after they entered serious talks with Timo Werner, who was keen on the move prior to joining Chelsea, as per The Athletic. But despite missing out, Firmino’s recent performance shows that they don’t need to spend big to fill this criteria.

With Thiago Alcantara bringing more creativity to the Anfield engine room, the Brazilian favourite may have more chances to show off his sweet right foot by staying further up front.

O Timão nada pode fazer, já que os chineses depositaram o valor da multa rescisória, 5 milhões de euros (aproximadamente R$ 21,3 milhões) e o atleta aceitou a proposta. O clube de Parque São Jorge ficará com 30% do valor da operação, pouco mais de R$ 6,4 milhões. O restante será dividido entre o próprio armador e seus empresários.

Desde a última semana as partes já davam o negócio como certo. Desde que foi notificado da oferta e do interesse de Jadson em aceitá-la, o Corinthians passou a contar com a saída do meia e estudar substitutos para o seu lugar.

A diretoria alvinegra já tem um acerto com o meia-atacante Marlone, de 23 anos, que estava no Sport, mas não o considera um substituto para Jadson, por terem características diferentes.

Jadson ficou duas temporadas no Corinthians. Ele chegou no início de 2014, em troca por Alexandre Pato com o São Paulo. O primeiro ano dele não foi muito bom, com altos e baixos, mas em 2015 ele deslanchou. Nesta temporada foram 26 assistências e 16 gols.

Everton can put their panicky summer transfers right with a future swoop for Manchester United outcast Sergio Romero, as the Argentine goalkeeper plans showdown talks over his Old Trafford future.

What’s the word?

According to the Daily Star, Romero is seeking crunch talks with Manchester United Executive Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward after only being informed of his omission from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s 25-man Premier League squad through social media.

Romero is said to be “baffled and angry” with United bosses at their lack of communication, while already being frustrated after being dropped to the bench for last season’s Europa League Semi-Final defeat to Sevilla having kept seven clean sheets in the nine prior fixtures.

The 33-year-old has also fallen to fourth choice in Solskjaer’s plans behind David De Gea, Dean Henderson and Lee Grant, who has featured for the Red Devils just twice since his move to Old Trafford in 2018 for around £1.5million.

Romero had hoped to secure a move away from Manchester United this summer and grew ever keener to quit the Premier League giants following his omission from their Champions League squad, but saw a potential move to Everton collapse when the Red Devils refused to lower their £10m asking price.

The ‘keeper now intends to discuss tearing up his £100,000-per-week contract in order for United to allow him to leave on a free transfer, with talks with Solskjaer and Woodward likely scheduled for next week once Romero concludes a period of self-isolation after returning from Argentina.

Everton given a second chance

Everton’s intrigue in Romero was long-reported in the summer, with the shot-stopper the subject of interest as the Blues sought a cheap back-up for Jordan Pickford before returning with a loan approach on Deadline Day.

United’s demands ensured a deal could not be concluded for a goalkeeper Louis van Gaal lauded upon his capture in 2015, when the former Dutch international sought cover in case De Gea departed amid interest from Real Madrid.

“Sergio is a very talented goalkeeper,” Van Gaal said, via quotes by The Telegraph. “He was a young keeper during my time at AZ and I am delighted he is joining United.

“He will be a great addition to the team and I am looking forward to working with him once again.”

Manchester United’s refusal to accept offers below £10m ultimately led Everton to panic and brought Robin Olsen in on a season-long loan from AS Roma that features no option to buy and a responsibility to cover his wages in full.

The Blues’ deal offers Carlo Ancelotti an easy out next summer should Olsen fail to challenge Pickford, while now seemingly offering the Merseyside outfit a second chance to right the wrongs of this summer and secure Romero’s services if the Argentine is able to agree a mutual end to his contract.

It will be unlikely that Everton and Director of Football Marcel Brands do manage to lure Romero to Goodison Park, however, as their commitment to cover Olsen’s salary for the season will ensure they look poorly on the potential of signing another option and especially one who turns 34 in February.

Ancelotti also has Jonas Lossl and Under 23s prospect Joao Virginia to call on, making it unnecessary to sign a fifth goalkeeper in Romero unless Olsen’s loan deal can be terminated early.

AND in other news, Everton appear to have dodged a bullet in a £13.5m man courted by Marco Silva in 2019.

After the incredible goalscoring start Callum Wilson has enjoyed, it’s only fair to assume that the striker would be hoping his manager try and either build the side around him, or play to his strengths.

Newcastle’s summer striker had bagged six goals in seven Premier League games prior to the clash against Southampton on Friday night, and that form surely warranted Steve Bruce to really try and tap into that a little bit more.

Instead, the Magpies inexplicably sat back even more and showed virtually little attacking intent, and it was no surprise to see them fall meekly to a 2-0 defeat on the south cast.

And when you look at Wilson’s display, it’s hard not to feel sorry for him.

As per Sofascore, the England international managed just 21 touches of the ball, 15 less than goalkeeper Karl Darlow. And if that wasn’t sad or damning enough, then the fact he made just four total passes in the 78 minutes he was on the pitch before he was substituted with an injury, said it all.

It’s a crying shame that even despite signing a Premier League proven striker, Newcastle show no desire to play the kind of football that could get the best out of him.

Instead, even with their talented attacking players like Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin for example, they continue to play one way, and one way only.

And sure enough, with Wilson feeding off scraps all night (and even ‘scraps’ is a bit of a reach), he pulled up with a hamstring injury and was forced to go off.

Now, the Magpies face the prospect of being without their one genuine goal-scorer for the next game and potentially even more. All in all, it was a very sobering night for Newcastle, and one that raises major questions about Bruce’s tactics.

Depois de aceitar as condições do defensor, que teria um custo menor do que R$ 100 mil mensais, o Alvinegro esbarrou no Deportivo Maldonado, do Uruguai, que detém os direitos econômicos do atleta.

Após ceder o beque para o Figueirense em 2015, o clube uruguaio, gerido por empresários, pediu ao Santos a quantia de 200 mil dólares (cerca de R$ 800 mil), para emprestar o zagueiro novamente, já que investiu cerca de 2,5 milhões de euros para contar com Thiago, mas só recebeu dinheiro para liberar o jogador uma vez, para o Palmeiras.
