Loads of Everton fans have been reacting to the news from the Merseyside club that a deadline for Season Ticket renewals has been confirmed, according to their official website.

As per the website, the deadline that members of the Goodison Park faithful can renew their season tickets for the upcoming 2020/21 season will be on Tuesday 28th July, an extension on the original date of 2nd April because of the global pandemic outbreak that swept across the footballing world.

The next campaign will be a fresh one under Carlo Ancelotti having replaced Marco Silva and taken over from interim boss Duncan Ferguson in the middle of the term.

Despite the Italian coach guiding the Toffees to 11th place in the Premier League table so far with five games still left to go, one fan claimed that he ‘won’t be attending a game until Ancelotti is gone’, as perhaps he feels that the Blues need to be higher up in the league if they have aspirations of qualifying for European football for the next season.

Ancelotti may also have not helped his case with defeats like the 4-0 hammering against his former club Chelsea and being knocked out of the FA Cup 1-0 by their bitter rivals Liverpool, who played a largely inexperienced team.

With 44 goals conceded in the Premier League this season, Tottenham have the second-worst defensive record in the top ten, and it’s surely an area that Jose Mourinho will hope to improve upon over the course of the summer transfer window.

And according to The Sun, Spurs are one of the clubs interested in Norwich defender Ben Godfrey. The report claims that along with the likes of Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, Mourinho’s side are eyeing up a move for the Englishman, with the Canaries potentially cashing in on him if they get relegated to the Championship this season.

After hearing about the links to the 22-year-old, Spurs fans flooded to Twitter to share their reactions.

Some Spurs fans couldn’t quite believe they are targeting defenders from a side that are currently rooted bottom of the table in the Premier League, and wondered how that would be considered improving their own team.

One fan in particular lambasted the prospect of Godfrey signing, essentially comparing him to a robot. And when you look at his stats as per Whoscored, you can perhaps see why. He averages less than a tackle and interception per game (0.8), makes 0.1 key passes and only 0.2 dribbles per game too – certainly not someone who seems adventurous on the ball, or aggressive without it.

Whilst Godfrey is part of a Norwich back-line that is officially the worst in the entire Premier League with 61 conceded, it’s probably worth reminding that he remains only 22, and has now built up considerable experience of the top-flight.

تحدث طلعت يوسف المدير الفني لفريق الكرة الأول بنادي الإسماعيلي، عن قبوله مهمة تدريب الدراويش التي وصفها بالتحدي، واختيار اتحاد الكرة للمدرب البرتغالي كارلوس كيروش لتدريب منتخب مصر خلفًا لحسام البدري.

وقال يوسف في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر فضائية “أون تايم سبورتس”: “الإسماعيلي تاريخ ونادي يجذب المدربين، ولكن وضعه الآن مختلف عن الفترات السابقة ، والطموحات فاقت الإمكانيات البشرية، الوضع ليس مريحًا، ولكن أنا أحب أن أخوض هذا التحدي على أمل توافر الإمكانيات التي من الممكن أن تحقق هذا الطموح”.

وأضاف: “يتواجد معي الآن 17 لاعبًا فقط، منهم 3 لاعبين مصابين، نحن نحتاج 5 أو 6 لاعبين في الثلاث خطوط”.

وأردف: “كنا نريد شراء لاعبين من وادي دجلة، ولكن الأندية أصحاب الإمكانيات الكبيرة تعاقدت معهم”.

وتابع: “من الصعب أن نشتري لاعبين من السوق المصرية، وهذا يجعلنا نلجأ لتدعيم الفريق بلاعبين عرب، سواء من تونس أو المغرب أو الجزائر أو لاعب إفريقي، على الجميع أن يتخيل أن هناك مركز في الفريق لا يوجد به أي لاعب”.

واستكمل: “سنبني فريق الإسماعيلي من جديد، والأمر لن يتم في شهر أو اثنين، تعاقدت مع الإسماعيلي لمدة موسم قابل للتجديد بموافقة الطرفين، والعقد ليس في حاجة إلى وجود بند يقضي بضرورة تدعيم الفريق”.

واستطرد: “غير وارد على الإطلاق التفكير في التعاقد مع أي لاعب من الاتحاد السكندري، وأي كلام يروج في هذا الشأن يتم لأغراض شخصية، بل على العكس، إدارة الاتحاد تواصلت معي شخصيًا من أجل شراء لاعب من الإسماعيلي، وأنا اعتذرت”.

وعن تعاقد منتخب مصر مع كارلوس كيروش، أتم: “اتحاد الكرة اجتهد في قرار إقالة حسام البدري واجتهد في التعاقد مع مدير فني ذو سيرة ذاتية جيدة، ولكن هل سيضيف شيء؟ لا يُمكن التكهن بذلك”.

واختتم: “كيروش جاء في وقت صعب وقبل مباراتين مهمتين، وهو لا يملك خلفية كبيرة عن اللاعبين، قد يكون الخطأ الذي وقع فيه البدري هو عدم استغلال فترة التوقف الدولي، لذلك كيروش يحتاج أن يرى اللاعبين بنفسه في الملعب”.

Jan Vertonghen has left Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the 2019/20 Premier League season. 

Tottenham officially confirmed Vertonghen and Michel Vorm have walked away following the conclusion of the campaign, while they released six academy players at the same time.

Vertonghen, 33, announced he would be leaving north London after he agreed to extend his contract for the remainder of the season.

Many Spurs supporters have taken to social media to wish him all the best, but their mood may take a turn for the worse if he joins a Premier League rival this summer.

Recent reports revealed Manchester City have emerged as ‘shock’ suitors as Pep Guardiola will try to persuade him to move to the Etihad instead.

Fans would have every right to feel aggrieved if the Belgian ended up at the Etihad, as he has been a loyal servant for the club for many years. Rest assured that won’t be happening anytime soon, as Voetbal24 claims he will reject any transfer offers from City or any other Premier League club for that matter.

According to reports from Belgium, he has his heart set on a move to Italy, amid interest from Serie A sides including Napoli, Inter Milan and AS Roma. However, his focus is entirely on Fiorentina, which is his first-choice destination.

The defender reportedly wants to live in the city of Florence which explains Vertonghen’s interest in La Viola.

He was a firm favourite of former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, although he was pushed aside by his successor Jose Mourinho, so it was hardly surprising he was an unused substitute during the 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace last weekend.

The seasoned veteran has attracted attention from all over the world, as he is considering an offer from Real Betis as well, and seems destined to move overseas.

Celtic’s summer is bound to be quite busy once again. And now, according to Sky Sports, they are looking to offload Boli Bolingoli and immediately replace him with a new player.

The same source claims that Leeds United’s Barry Douglas is apparently high on their wishlist and we could see them make a move for the new Premier League left-back in the ongoing window.

Of course, Marcelo Bielsa’s men have been promoted to the English top-flight, which may or may not have an effect on Celtic’s potential bid, but new arrivals are surely on the cards.

Interestingly, Sky Sports also say Bolingoli is attracting interest from the Ligue 2 side Amiens and they are offering a loan deal that includes an option to buy at the end of the campaign, for a fee around £2.3m.

It is also worth mentioning that the player himself broke the Coronavirus rules with a trip to Spain without telling anything to the club or to Neil Lennon, leaving them furious with that decision. The papers don’t directly say anything about that potentially being one of the reasons he’s being sold but it’s safe to say he’s not exactly on the manager’s good side anymore.

Verdict

Douglas is a highly experienced player already in his 30s and seeing how he’s had limited opportunities for the Whites in 2019/20, he could indeed be an attainable target for Celtic.

Of course, first, they have to offload Bolingoli but the interest from France seems to be strong enough for them to successfully do that sooner rather than later. On the face of it, it seems like a good deal for all parties involved.

وقال سولشاير في تصريحات بالمؤتمر الصحفي الخاص بمواجهة فياريال: “هاري ماجواير يعاني من مشكلة في ربلة الساق، قد يستغرق الأمر بضعة أسابيع، ولكن دعونا نرى مدى سرعة تعافيه”.

وأضاف: “سيتعين علينا إجراء بعض التغييرات ضد فياريال، ماجواير من اللاعبين الرائعين ونعتمد عليه في العديد من الأشياء، ولديه شخصية انتصارية كبيرة”.

وعن مواجهة فياريال: “لقد لعبت ضد إيمري 5 مرات، وجميع المباريات انتهت بالتعادل، إنه مدرب منظم للغاية، جيد من الناحية الفنية، من الصعب الضغط على فريقهم، ورغم أننا فعلنا ذلك في نهائي الدوري الأوروبي لكننا لم نفز”.

وأشار: “في دور المجموعات تريد 10 أو 12 نقطة من 6 مباريات للتأهل، ونحن خسرنا 3 نقاط الجولة الماضية، مواجهة فياريال ليست من المباريات التي لابد أن تفوز بها، لكنها مهمة، لأنه في حالة الخسارة أو التعادل ستكون بحاجة للفوز في آخر 4 مباريات”.

وشدد: “تركيزي دائمًا في المباراة المقبلة، نركز على الدوري مرة أخرى من صباخ الخميس، كنا نود أن نتصدر الدوري ولكننا مازلنا في المنافسة، ونأمل أن نستمر هكذا في جميع البطولات حتى مايو”.

وواصل: “نسعى للعودة إلى المسار الصحيح، يمكننا التحسن والتطور والتعلم من الأخطاء، هذا الفريق الذي أملكه يمكنه فعل الكثير”.

وأردف: “رونالدو يسعى دائمًا للتسجيل، يحب الفوز ويسعى له، وهذا ما يميزه وجعلنا نتعاقد معه، لديه أرقام قياسية ويريد تحقيق أرقام أخرى، لقد سجل 13 هدفًا في فياريال من قبل، يعني أنه يستمتع باللعب ضدهم، كما أنه يعرف ألبيول وتوريس، لكنه يصمم على التسجيل في كل مرة يكون فيها على أرض الملعب”.
