ألمح جناح الفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي أتلتيك بلباو، نيكو ويليامز، إلى موعد رحيله المحتمل عن ملعب “سان ماميس” في المستقبل.

وكان ويليامز مطلوبًا في أكثر من نادٍ أبرزهم برشلونة وباريس سان جيرمان، لكن اللاعب فضل البقاء وبعد انتهاء سوق الانتقالات سيظل مع أتلتيك بلباو هذا الموسم.

وتحدث لاعب أتلتيك بلباو مع شبكة “DAZN” الناقلة لبطولة الدوري الإسباني، وقال: “أشعر بالسعادة هنا، هذا ما يعرفه الجميع بالفعل”.

وتابع: “دراسة العروض وتلك الأشياء أمر من اختصاص وكيل أعمالي، لقد قررت بالفعل أن أكون هنا لموسم آخر، لمواصل التطور في أتلتيك بلباو”.

واستمر: “هذا هو الشيء المهم الآن، لقد تلقيت عروضًا للانتقال إلى أندية أخرى، كان لاعب آخر ليوافق عليها، لكنني قررت الاستمرار لمدة موسم آخر”.

Glasgow Rangers immediately bounced back to winning ways after their Old Firm woes as they ran out 3-1 winners against Kilmarnock on Tuesday in the Scottish Premiership.

The Light Blues secured a comfortable victory to wash away the pain of being beaten 2-1 by their rivals Celtic on Saturday, thanks to goals from Ross McCausland, Abdallah Sima, and Todd Cantwell.

Philippe Clement should be pleased with the dominant nature of his side's performance as they ended the match with 61% possession and 18 shots on goal to go along with the convincing scoreline.

Cantwell caught the eye with his display in the middle of the park but it was one of his fellow midfielders – John Lundstram – who was the true hero for the head coach.

The former Norwich City attacking midfielder was busy in midfield with 68 touches of the ball over the course of his 89 minutes on the pitch.

In that time, the English whiz completed all four of his attempted dribbles and 80% (37/46) of his attempted passes. However, that did not lead to him being able to create a single chance for his teammates.

This suggests that the talented ace was not a particularly creative presence for Rangers in terms of his passing to open up space for his fellow attackers to test the opposition goalkeeper.

He did, however, find the back of the net to make it 3-1 with a smart finish from close range from Ridvan Yilmaz's assist, but also missed a 'big chance' to secure his second as he was denied by a save from Will Dennis.

Meanwhile, Lundstram sat in at the base of the Rangers midfield and was Clement's true hero with a terrific all-round display throughout the game.

He kept things ticking with his metronomic play in possession and was a machine in the middle of the park with his defensive quality and strength in physical duels.

The former Sheffield United enforcer rarely gave the ball away as he completed 90% (65/72) of his attempted passes from 80 touches of the ball and made five of his six long pass attempts.

This helped the Light Blues to control the match as the 29-year-old gem, who also created one chance, kept the play moving and was not wasteful with his use of possession, which then provided a platform for the likes of Sima, Cantwell, and McCausland to thrive.

Lundstram also won 88% (7/8) of his duels throughout the game, which included five of his six ground battles and both of his aerial contests, as the impressive maestro dominated the opposition midfield to stop them from getting back into the match.

He made three tackles and one clearance in total to break up Kilmarnock attacks before they were able to break forward and trouble Jack Butland's goal.

These statistics show that the English dynamo was terrific in all of his work in and out of possession from the first minute to the last, whereas Cantwell was wasteful outside of his goal and not at his creative best, which is why he was Clement's true hero on the day.

At just 20-years-old, Fellows is only likely to get better, and the fact that he has such impressive ball-carrying ability could be a standout skill for those on Merseyside. Often looking to hit the big spenders of the league on the counter attack, Fellows' ability on the ball would prove to be a valuable asset at Everton. وأكمل: “اللاعب كان يتقاضى راتبًا 2 مليون أو 2 مليون ونصف دولار في الموسم في الأندية التي لعب بها، لكن أقنعناه بأن يحصل على 800 ألف دولار مع الزمالك ومكافآت تزيد قيمة تعاقده”.

وأفاد: “بوبيندزا عندما اتفق مع الزمالك لم يوضح أنه مرتبط بوكيل آخر، والدليل أنه وقع على الاتفاقية بنفسه”.

وأشار: “كان الاتفاق بينه وبين الزمالك على الانضمام لمدة 3 سنوات، وزيادة 10% أو 20% سنوية”.

وأردف: “بعد التوقيع على العرض بدأنا في إجراءات وصوله إلى مصر، واتفقنا بعد توقيعه يوم الإثنين أن يحضر يوم الأحد التالي، ورتبنا كل الأمور، واللاعب كان في إجازة وقتها واختفى، وبدأت الأخبار يتم تسريبها بأنه انضم للزمالك، وبدأت ضغوطات على اللاعب، دخلت أطراف في الموضوع، بعض الناس أرسلوا للاعب أمور تخص قضايا ومشاكل على الزمالك، وأرسلها اللاعب لي، كانت أخبار تخص القضايا ضد النادي باللغة الفرنسية، وأنا فهمته الوضع وطمأنته”.

واستطرد: “الزمالك معه اتفاقية موقعة من اللاعب والبطاقة الدولية استلمها النادي من الاتحاد الأمريكي”.

وأضاف: “الوكيل الآخر للاعب ظهر بعد أن تم تسريب اسمه وانتقاله إلى الزمالك، أعتقد أن كل ما حدث أثر على بوبيندزا”.

هل الزمالك سيشتكي في فيفا؟ أتم قائلاً: “النادي على دراية بما سيفعل، لكن بالتأكيد لن يترك حقه”.

Former West Indies batsman Xavier Marshall has been named in USA’s 14-man squad for ICC World Cricket League Division Two, which starts later this month in Namibia, where USA will strive to obtain ODI status for the first time in their history.Marshall first played for USA in January last year in the West Indies Regional Super50 tournament. But after managing just 137 runs in eight innings he was dropped in the summer, due, in part, to his partial absence from a squad trial in New York last June.However, the 33-year-old Marshall made the most of a second chance with the side after being recalled last month for their tour of the UAE. He was in USA’s starting XI for their maiden T20 international against the UAE, becoming the seventh player to take the field for two different countries in T20Is . After a slow start, he ended the tour as the side’s leading scorer with 424 runs in nine innings, including a best of 170 against a UAE Developmental XI. He also scored three half-centuries, including 75 in USA’s six-wicket win over Lancashire on the tour.The fitness cloud over Barbados-contracted batsman Aaron Jones has also disappeared after he was named in USA’s squad. Australia batsman Marnus Labuschagne scored his third hundred of the season as Glamorgan continued their impressive fightback on a rain-shortened day of their Specsavers County Championship division two match against Sussex.Just 21 overs were possible on the third day at Hove before rain arrived with Glamorgan 218 for 1 in their second innings – still 16 behind – with Labuschagne 131 not out.Labuschagne, who made his Test debut for Australia last October, has already made 121 against Northamptonshire and 137 against Gloucestershire during his stint as Glamorgan’s overseas player and the 24-year-old hasn’t offered a chance here on a pitch which has flattened out since 15 wickets fell on the first day.Opener Nick Selman, who carried his bat in the first innings, has so far helped Labuschagne add 218 with the Glamorgan record for the second wicket against Sussex of 238, set in 1962 by Alan Jones and Tony Lewis at Hastings, now in their sights.They resumed on 137 for 1 with Labuschagne quickly adding the 23 runs needed to lodge his seventh first-class hundred, which he reached with a leg glance to the boundary off Chris Jordan. Labuschagne hit two boundaries in an over off four different bowlers and always looked to play positively.Sussex skipper Ben Brown rung the changes, using six bowlers in the 80 minutes of play before the rain arrived but neither batsman looked troubled by either the four seamers or two spinners he employed.While Labuschagne played with more freedom, Selman was happy to accumulate patiently as the partnership grew. A fresh update has emerged regarding the future of an "unbelievable" Newcastle United player, with a new contract not out of the question.

The Magpies are now running out of time to bring in new faces in the January transfer window, with deadline day arriving next Thursday. Nobody has come in yet this month, and supporters will no doubt be desperate to see that change in the coming days.

Newcastle have been linked with plenty of players, although Kalvin Phillips has now completed a loan switch to West Ham, having been seen as a strong contender to head to St James' Park for some time. Meanwhile, Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has also emerged as an alternative to the Englishman in the middle of the park.

Nottingham Forest ace Morgan Gibbs-White is another name who has been thrown into the mix, being seen as a possible replacement for Miguel Almiron if he moves on.

In terms of other potential outgoings, Callum Wilson is reportedly wanted by Chelsea in January, while Bayern Munich are believed to have ended their interest in Kieran Trippier.

Jamaal Lascelles' Newcastle future

According to a new report from Fotospor [via Sport Witness], Newcastle centre-back Jamaal Lascelles is "trying to force" Eddie Howe to give him a new deal at the club.

He is said to be "using" Besiktas' interest in him as a bargaining tool, hoping that he can end up extending his stay at St James' instead of moving elsewhere.

There is no doubt that Lascelles is no longer seen as a guaranteed starter for Newcastle, filling in when others are injured and not being the key man he used to be. Sven Botman and Fabian Schar have become the first-choice centre-back pairing, and the latter may even be replaced for an upgrade soon, considering he is now in his 30s.

That being said, keeping hold of Lascelles as a strong squad player could still make sense given the wealth of experience he possesses, not to mention his leadership skills. Howe has lauded him in that respect, saying back in the summer:

"He's been an unbelievable captain for us. Captaincy doesn't just exist on the pitch, it has to exist off the pitch. The two things are so intrinsically linked. A lot of our success last year wasn't just down to the team, it came down to a group of players giving everything on and off the pitch. There was a group off the pitch that were absolutely magnificent, and Jamaal was one of them. He will want to play but it's how you react that is the key. We move forward together."

Lascelles is out of contract at Newcastle at the end of the season, so a big decision has to be made very soon in terms of whether they cash in on him this month, let him leave for free in the summer, or hand him a new deal. The latter arguably makes the most sense, with losing him now potentially leading to an immediate negative impact on Howe's squad depth.

Thiago Maia não entra em campo para atuar desde o dia 14 de novembro de 2020, quando sofreu uma lesão ligamentar no joelho esquerdo – e que, posteriormente, o levou a operar o local.
